Stephani OWNER / OPERATIONS MANAGER
I love seeing the smiles on brides faces when they have found the one. It makes me melt. It’s one of the emotional enjoyments we get here. I love owning a bridal shop and having the ability to make things happen for my customers. With my prior career I have the service, organization and knowledge to get it done and done correctly.
When I’m not here playing in wedding dresses I love to go get dirty. I mountain bike ride in the single-track trails through the mountains around the Bay Area. The muddier the better. When the bike is away I wrench on my 69’ GTO or take my puppies for a hike/swim.

Jennifer Alterations Manager
Hi I’m Jen. I am a California girl! Ever since I was a child, I loved wedding gowns. I started drawing white dresses at the age of 12 and knew that’s what I wanted to do when I grew up! I have a passion for this industry and because of that I got my degree from San Francisco State with a BS in Apparel Design. I have been in the bridal industry since 2006, and love my job!
Jennea Social Media Guru
I have been apart of the team at Janene’s Bridal Boutique since 2015. I love the family environment here at Janenes. Since I was little, one of my favorite movies has been Father of the Bride – which started my love for all things wedding related. There is something so magical about a wedding and especially when a bride finds her dream dress! I still remember the day I found my dream Hayley Paige dress here at Janenes for my wedding day. In my free time I love to travel the world and dirt bike with my husband and spend time with our 2 dogs.
Carla Assistant Manager
Imagine this! A little Jamaican girl in her mom’s heels, dining room table centerpiece in hand and towel for a veil envisioning her walk down the aisle. That was me! Before there was “Say Yes To The Dress” there was “A Wedding Story” and that’s when my training began. I am very passionate about helping brides find a dress that exceeds their expectations. Maybe that means finding the dress that they’ve been dreaming about, or maybe it’s finding the dress that they couldn’t even have imagined.
In my spare time you can find me doing bridal makeup, behind the lens at a boudoir shoot or with my amazing husband and fur baby!
Chae Alterations Stylist
Having had previous experience as a wedding coordinator working in a department store, I thought I was already getting the ultimate experience in bridal, but I was wrong! Having had no real experience in the alterations department I jumped in headfirst and I am glad I did. Being an Alterations Consultant has been so fulfilling. Meeting new brides every day and helping them through the most stressful time of their lives has been so wonderful. My main goal is to make sure my brides leave every appointment happy and reassured that her big day will be great and that she will look fabulous!
When I am not here giving tips, hugs and pep talks I enjoy reading, scrolling through Pinterest, listening to music and spending time with my beautiful family.
Ever since I went wedding dress shopping with my aunt at age 7 and helped her find her dream dress, I have been obsessed with bridal. I went to school for apparel design and have worked on the creative and technical side of bridal before deciding to go back to school for nursing. I still love wedding dresses and am so happy that I can help brides find their dream dress at Janene’s!
I was born and raised in Oakland. I am a proud dog mommy of 3 boys and I have two older brothers, so growing up I played with video games and toy cars and with my 3 dogs we love the outdoors and long walks. Through them I learned to be kind and to have a good time regardless of the day. That’s exactly what I bring to the table. I enjoy meeting new people, sharing laughs, having a good time and creating new memories on such an important day as picking your wedding dress.
I hail from San Francisco and went to grad school out East. That’s where I met my husband and started our family. My love of bridal gowns blossomed as I searched for my wedding dress and the love has never died. As such, my second “career” is something I truly enjoy! We have so many gorgeous gowns in our store, and I would love to help you find something stunning that reflects you.
I have loved wedding dresses since I started to spend every Friday night watching “Say Yes to the Dress” with my mom! During the week I teach 6th grade and enjoy spending my weekends helping brides finding their dream dress.
When I’m not teaching or at the boutique, I spend my time traveling the world and spending time with my family.
My name is Kate and I love helping brides chose the dress that lets their personality shine! When I’m not hustle-ing and bustle-ing, I can be found in the library with my nose buried in a book. As a full time law-student, I run on caffeine (3 shots of espresso, to be exact). If you are a bride that likes to talk nerdy, ask for me!
Sarah Updo and Accessory Stylist

After completing her BA with FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) she went on to Paul Mitchell’s cosmetology program. This is when she decided to grow her interest in special occasion hair styling. Sarah truly enjoys being a part of a bride’s wedding day. Sarah goal for every bride is to feel comfortable, heard and to have their vision of
style come to life.
JANENE'S ALTERATIONS SEWERS
Carmelia Seamstress/Custom Beader
I have been sewing for eighteen years and counting. The thing about working with wedding dresses is that you get to not only see them but you get to be a part of someone’s special day. Being creative, sewing, doing bead work and putting the pieces together to make the perfect dress is worth it to see the finished product. Sewing is not just a job for me, it’s also a hobby that I continue to do at home, as well.
Nina is an amazing seamstress, having started sewing when she was just a young child in 1948. She’s designed and sewn wedding and quinceañera gowns for more than 30 years. Nina is an extremely talented member of our alterations team.
I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember and took my passion to the next level when I began tailoring professionally 37 years ago. My experience really shines in my extensive skill set and creative trouble-shooting. I love helping people feel amazing by creating clothes that are perfectly tailored to their bodies.
My specialty is alterations of couture bridal gowns. I have been working for Janene for over 30 years making brides dreams come true. When I am not sewing I spend time with my grandchildren and family.
As a child, I enjoyed designing and sewing dresses for my dolls. In junior high school I started sewing my own clothes, and when my niece got married, I redesigned and altered her wedding dress. This was the first wedding dress that I had the experience of working on with many more to follow. At the time of working on my first wedding dress, I realized how rewarding it was to help bring to life a bride’s dream dress! This passion is what led me to be able to have the privilege to be apart of the alterations team at the best bridal boutique in the Bay Area!
I am a former graduate of Alameda College, I majored in Apparel Design and Merchandising. I have always been amazed by the process of creating garments, especially when it comes to the details. I love seeing wedding dresses that have beading and lace, it really gives the dresses a special touch. Sewing is one of my passions and it is always an ongoing learning process for me.
I have been involved with bridal alterations since 2015, but have been sewing and fitting other garments recreationally for over a decade. Growing up, my mother used to sew professionally and would let me sew spare buttons onto scrape of fabric and small dresses for my dolls, which I attribute my preference to handwork too. I particularly love working with lace, embroidery, and beadwork. Outside of work, I am currently pursuing a career in nursing. I also like to create costumes for my family, my friends, and myself as a hobby.
